ILLEGAL – Tower Hamlets Book Award Runner Up

Pleased as punch to say that our graphic novel, ILLEGAL, was Runner Up at the lovely Tower Hamlets Books Awards yesterday.

A really great event with hundreds of school children from all over Tower Hamlets. I was there representing #teamillegal, Eoin Colfer and Giovanni Rigano.

Congratulations to Neill Cameron who won for Mega Robo Rumble. It was great to meet you. Nice to see the top two places both unusually both going to graphic novels!

Congratulations to all the schools that did presentations on books chosen from the shortlist.

All the schools did a fantastic job of performing in front of five hundred people, but a special shout out to the two schools that performed stage pieces based on ILLEGAL, Marner Primary School in Bow and Woolmore Primary School. You were both brilliant.

Thanks to Tower Hamlets School Libraries Service, Gillian Harris and Jacob Turner for their faultless organisation. And thanks to Ms Lowther for the eye-popping four way photo. The event was held in the East Wintergarden in Docklands, London.
