GLOBAL is a Sakura Medal 2025 Nominee!

Myself, Eoin, and Gio were all delighted to learn that our graphic novel, GLOBAL, is a nominee for Japan’s Middle School Sakura Medal 2025.

The Sakura Medal program brings together students from the International schools across Japan each year to vote for their favourite books.

The stated mission of the Sakura Medal award program is to create a community of lifelong readers in international schools in Japan using a diverse range of fantastic and engaging books.

Speaking about Global, a spokesperson for the award said “This book follows Sami and Yuki, two teens experiencing the impact of climate change on their drastically different worlds, highlighting the urgent need for action. The message in this book stands clear and true, highlighting the seriousness of the state our world is in.”

Adding “Even this week in Tokyo, the constant cloud cover and unusual weather patterns have reflected how vital it is to take care of our world.”

It’s an honour to be included.
